He spent most of the 1st day panicking and coming to terms with the game. Progress didn't happen until the afternoon of the 2nd day, at which he did what he could to follow instructions. Having both clients, he could monitor himself and be able to handle the game alone (in which his friends are already busy, as mentioned before, so this doesn't make much of a difference).

There had to be a huge stroke of luck involved, too. His mom is currently on vacation for a couple weeks, giving room for the impact date. He also lives in a quieter part of town, fairly distant fron neighbors somewhere close to the woods. Safe to say that asteroid won't harm anyone else after- well, we aren't there just yet.
