[DESCRIPTION OF VIDEO UPLOADED ON JULY 20TH, 2023]

OVERVIEW OF VIDEO:
>>> A video was uploaded on July 20th, 2023 to celebrate the 6th anniversary of Kirb: Adventure in Funland. The project was built as a Cave Story mod trailing off of another that was made by one of Kirb's friends. This precursor, titled "CASCADE", tells a story of a character named Oko looking for their missing sibling, Aya. It focuses more on narrative than combat, only allowing the player to have 1 weapon out of Cave Story's arsenal, and even includes a second, secret ending. From here, Kade takes Oko's place in search of a way back home, only to discover the SonicKade sona deep in his own head. This project continues the attitude from earlier in the year, as phiDOT and CONFINED ATONEMENT showed Kirb's fight against himself and him debating his choices, though this project is less self-referential in this nature and can stand on its own much better.
>>> The video begins with a disclaimer that reads as follows for 18 seconds:

 - DISCLAIMER -
> This is a mod of an already-finished project. All credit goes to the original developer, AquaDoesStuff, as well as further credit given in the mod's 1st ending cutscene. All I did was replace some graphic and dialogue for fun. Please support the original release in the video description's given links.

>>> After this, the game footage starts as "SonicKade + AquaDoesStuff" appears in the top-middle of the screen, and a transition plays to show Kade asleep on Oko's bed in Oko & Aya's home. It then switches to the title screen; the logo has been updated with smoother shading, a dotted underline and "-ALPHA MIX-" written below it.
>>> With the nature of this project, it's hard to tell what line of canon this falls into. For the integrity of this page, this will be running under the assumption that this is a separate Universe and is not the "canon" Kade or sona. The gameplay may or may not be controlled by an outside player, and there is no clear way to tell within the bounds of the video. With that said, the player clicks the "New" option and begins the story, watching the intro play.

>>> It begins with Kade following Oko's vanilla movements, waking up and stepping out of bed to inquire where Aya -- in this case, Kade's friends -- went.{01} The player gets a feel for the controls before exiting the room. Kade enters the first area and questions where he is.{02} The player presses him forward before getting stopped by a breakable wall,{03} but has to turn around to find a weapon back in the house.{04} They test it before moving further and break down the wall. The player defeats two enemies in Kade's way and drops him down to a save point{05}, also different from the vanilla mod and resembling the deltarune save point instead.
>>> Soon, entering the next room, they find a character to talk to.{06} They direct Kade further into the cave and continue on, climbing and fighting enemies. Another save point, an intermediate grass hallway, and then Kade speaks again.{07} The room now turns more construction-esque, having hanging concrete blocks and chisled stone pathways. Kade drops into an alcove to find a secondary light source, resembling the UNDERTALE save point now with its yellow-ish color and star shape. It increases the player's health.{08} They climb out and open a small chest higher up, gaining an airdash jetpack.{09} They spend more minutes climbing and fighting, proceeding to the timestamp of 8 minutes and 43 seconds.

>>> Kade and the player are now in a village with more NPCs, able to learn more information about the location, where to go and what to do.{10}{11}{12} After this, they climb to the north-west point of the room to press on. More minutes are spent platforming around, including traversal over instant-kill spikes. Another health pickup is found as well, and most of the time is spent gazing around the landscape to get good views of it all. This continues into the next room that opens up to a large ravine to climb, the player taking caution towards tbe enemies to avoid falling from knockback. They arrive at a terminal placed at the top, using it to unlock a door at the bottom of the room. Scaling back down and stepping back out to save the game again, Kade and the player finally meet The Cascade Guard.{13}
>>> Kade begins conversing with the official, more ominous-looking than the others with a purple body and eerie smile. They point out Kade's discrepancy with being in this location, but tells him to leave all the same as the conversation with Oko. Despite the warning, Kade's persistence allows him entry. Stepping through, Kade gazes at the large waterfall. The player, on the next screen, guides Kade into the void, and the game takes control to let him fall. Another dialogue box is shown, having SK's portrait instead, showing him apologize for his lack of drive. As well, some extra text describes Kade's SOUL "feeling heavy", with Kade himself reacting. It is likely his SOUL is letting him detect SK via magic bond, sensing him elsewhere in The Cascade.{14}

>>> Finally, the credits play; everything from the original is kept, with an additional "Modded by SonicKade2048" before the next screen. Contrast to Oko & Aya's fainted states on this screen, Kade & SK are shown standing, the latter with his back turned to the former. While it's never been clarified since, it could be possible they had ways to survive the fall; Kade is designed to be a hero and can withstand greater falls thanks to stronger physique, and SK may have hidden himself away there through safer means... though this is, of course, simple theory. The ending screen shows them both falling in a pillar of light, Kade reaching down to grab SK's hand for safety. Unfortunately, this is also where the video ends, as the alternate ending was never documented in video form. This could be due to said ending's text boxes being used for the main ending, spliced together through video editing. This was Kirb's first step into Cave Story modding and thus he may have needed "smoke & mirrors" for easing the workload.
